New INBRE Network Members Gather at Retreat

In preparation for another five years of INBRE funding in Maine, the faculty and staff managing the various INBRE-supported programs at the network institutions participated in a retreat in April at the MDI Bio Lab. The network has expanded from 14 to 17 participating institutions with the addition of the MaineHealth Institute for Research, the University of Southern Maine, and the University of Maine at Augusta. The group reviewed new initiatives of the statewide programming and discussed ways to further develop collaborative opportunities and continue to develop biomedical capacity in Maine.

Executive Committee, Steering Committee, Core Directors, Program Directors, and INBRE Staff gathered in April at the MDI Bio Lab to meet and plan for the new 5-year award. Dr. Hermann Haller, President of MDI Bio Lab, addressed the group and two Maine COBRE PIs, Iain Drummond (MDI Bio Lab COBRE) and Lucy Liaw (MHIR COBRE), attended the retreat.
